Recent Grant Awards
The Depot Foundation has awarded $391,460 in 2022-2023 in support of arts, culture and history at the St. Louis County Depot. Congratulations to each organization and we look forward to the impact your projects will have on our community!
Arrowhead Chorale – $5,460 in support of Holiday Traditions & Jubilations to be held at the Depot in December 2022
St. Louis County Depot – $128,251 to fund new theatrical equipment such as lighting, sound, rigging, curtains and much-needed upgrades to the Family Theatre
Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra – $66,650 in support of Bridge Session Concerts to be held at the Depot in Summer of 2023
Lake Superior Railroad Museum – $30,000 to fund replacement of train platforms
Minnesota Ballet – $105,000 in support of equipment upgrades for the Underground Theatre including a new dance floor and dressing rooms
Duluth Art Institute – $25,500 in support of new exhibitions and artist stipends

The Depot Foundation has funded a total of $398,860 from Undesignated and Designated Funds, Muriel Whiteside Trust Funds, and Prindle Wood Funds to the Depot organizations listed below.
Arrowhead Chorale – $5,175 in support of annual holiday concert
Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra – $27,925 in support of a summer concert series in the Great Hall
Duluth Art Institute – $20,312 in support of exhibitions including Like Me, Like You, a Twin Ports APIDA collective bearing witness to the stories of our Asian Island Pacific Islander Desi American neighbors
Duluth Playhouse – $94,300 in support of productions, accessibility enhancements including a wheelchair lift and other improvements to the Family Theatre
St. Louis County Historical Society – $47,265 in support of new display cases and exhibit development
Minnesota Ballet – $71,315 in support of capital improvements for a remodel of the Ruth Maney Room into a new rehearsal studio with a new sprung floor, enhanced accessibility for adaptive dance and movement classes, as well as the buildout of a new administrative office adjacent to the studio
Lake Superior Railroad Museum – $60,000 in support of the Seacrest Exhibit
